THE DENSITY OF BONE IN MY BROW
AUGUST 2018
250 posters, various sizes
The density of bone in my brow is an ongoing text based project that has and does exist variably as text based videos, electronic literature programs, posters that were fly posted around cities, and is currently being worked into a longer form published book. The work consists of repetitive texts that list the distracted development of daily thought processes that pin-ball around the brain. Starting with the same repetitive mantra ‘and then I am thinking of’ at the beginning of each line, the texts trace the formation, development and distractions that exist in the process of thought formation, and are representative of the barrage of different levels and scales of thoughts that invade the mind and prevent it from experiencing true presence.
Most recently 250 texts have been fly posted around quiet places in Bergen city, such as public toilets, alleyways, old industrial buildings, community notice boards, places of worship, street signs, and more, in the hope that individuals would experience these posters unexpectedly with the resonance of relatability.
